During the 1970s Gary fronted the Hall Of Fame quartet, working the Borscht Belt…Grossingers, Kutchers, The Raleigh , Stevensville, and other hotels in the Catskills.   Since 1979 Gary has led  his Spice of Life orchestra, playing private parties and corporate functions in New York’s finest hotels and country clubs along the eastern seaboard.  Headlining at the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong for the New Millennium, Gary and his orchestra rocked the international crowd into the 21st Century!

In 1994 he joined  Little Isidore & The Inquisitors and performed with the rhythm & blues band until 1997.  He  recorded with  the band in 1996 on their CD Inquisition Of Love on the Hy-Sam label.   Gary’s first solo CD Doin’ It, produced by Johnny Gale and James Rohlehr, is ready for a spring 2009 release.   Two cuts, “Crazy Baby”& “You’re So Fine” from Gary’s CD have been included on the recently released Nu-Soul Explosion compilation album, produced by and featuring Angel Rissoff, a great singing talent and former member of the Inquisitors.  The CD is chock full of soulful talent.

In 1998 Gary was featured for a month at the grand opening of the Paris hotel in Las Vegas.  He quickly became a Vegas favorite.  His show is booked for conventions and lounge performances three or four times a year at the Monte Carlo, Hard Rock Café, Golden Nugget, Rio, and Venetian Hotels.

Gary says, “Entertaining is a mission of LOVE….  When I perform, I feel that energy flowing between my audience and me. Cole Porter, John Lennon and Marvin Gaye's music was all about LOVE.  I'm just carrying on their legacy."

Gary Lovett entered show business in 1961 as part of the Gary & Gary duo.  The act recorded for Vee Jay, Arock and Heidi record labels and performed in theatres and nightclubs on the Chitlin Circuit for 4 years.  They played  Harlem’s Apollo and Baby Grand, the Uptown and Peps Lounge in Philly, the Royal in Baltimore, the Howard in Washington .D.C., the Fox in Cleveland,  the Paladium and Twenty Grand Club in Detroit, to name a few.  They were an opening act for many great headliners, including Jackie Wilson, Dee Clark, Etta James, Ruth Brown, Jerry Butler, Benny King, Billy Stewart, Barbara Lynn and Nipsey Russell. 

In 1965, Gary & Gary added an instrumental trio to their act.  Under the direction of Nat Jones they added standards and special material, then began booking some of the top venues in the New York area, including Jules Podell’s Copacabana, the Latin Quarter, the Blue Angel, the Hawaii Kai, Village Gate and many other clubs.  The act stayed together until 1968, then Gary Lovett went solo.
